Welcome to My New Blog! 👋

I've just got to get this out in the open now... I love cats. Like a lot. If you would rather have only dogs in the world, don't worry. We can still be friends.

Okay, now that we've cleared the air, enough about cats. As a writer, actor, and minister, I am looking forward to all the fun and interesting things to process and share through this blog! To start, I would love to share a little bit about my journey that led me to this point of writing a blog and sharing it with the world.

I have always loved stories. My childhood friends always knew me as the friend to direct a play in my parent's basement, run around the backyard with a fake bow and arrow slaying dragons, and host a reading hangout where all we did was speed through Harry Potter.

Creativity has always poured out of me. Some seasons have been more dry than others, but most of the times, I am creating something: be it a song, story, or poem. (Though the visual arts are definitely NOT in my wheelhouse. That is why I am hiring someone to help with the book cover!)

One of my favorite elements of creativity is the way it connects us. Oftentimes, the church can feel very isolating and intimidating to those who don't belong to it. On the flip side, a lot of church people are nervous to enter communities outside of it because they don't know how to talk to people who live differently than them. That makes me sad. Having spent significant portions of my life in the church bubble and in the entertainment industry, I learned those two worlds often don't interlay; however, both hold beautiful aspects that are vital to the well-being of our world.

If we are to truly love and care for one another, we need to get to know one another. What's the best way I've found to do that? Telling stories.

That is why I think it is vital for each person to have an avenue and outlet to tell their story: whether it's over a cup of coffee, through a social media post, or in a memoir. The life you've lived is worth sharing—especially with those who are different than you.

So, please, get out there and share your story! I know I would love to hear it.
